‘My Year 2074: Healthy Me, Healthy Country’ campaign across the nation from May 4. A nation-wide programme is being launched from May 4 with an objective of making all known the national campaign ‘My Year 2074: Healthy Me, Healthy Country.’

The Health Ministry, Health Department, and Information and Communication Centre issued the circular to District Health Offices, directing to organise campaign-related programmes.

Announcing the celebration of ‘This Year 2074: Healthy Me, Healthy Country’ as the campaign, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had inaugurated the campaign on April 14. Information Centre Director Badri Bahadur Khadka said that all the District Health Offices were circulated as per the plan of conducting other programmes linking to the campaign in the local levels.

Health Ministry has the confidence that the campaign would encourage the people for timely treatment of disease caused by the excessive consumption of alcohol and tobacco related products; use of pesticide in food and polluted environment with adverse impact on people’s health.A child was killed in a fire at Hathihawa of Suddodhan Rural Municipality-5 Friday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Shyam Kurmi, two-year-old son of local Om Prakrash Kurmi. The child lost his life in the fire that broke out at his home in the afternoon and police believed that it was originated from a wood woven which was not doused after preparing morning meal.
