Speech of New IGP Prakash Ariyal

Finishing a long standing line over the arrangement of Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP), the legislature on Monday designated DIG Prakash Aryal as the 25th IGP.

A Cabinet meeting prior in the day had chosen to pick the new IGP simply after the board of trustees shaped to accept an approach the score of execution assessment presented its report.

In view of the board of trustees’ assessment report, the Cabinet on Monday evening delegated Aryal as the IGP.

Prior on March 21, the Supreme Court (SC) had denied the Cabinet’s February 12 choice to choose Jaya Bahadur Chand as IGP.

Taking after the choice to select Chand as head of Nepal Police, DIG Nawaraj Silwal, one of the contenders for the IGP post, had moved court in light of which the court had remained the administration choice.

Conceived in Dang, fifty-three-year-old Aryal had filled in as Chief of Metropolitan Traffic Police Division. Of late he was the head of Nepal Police’s Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB). A MBA move on from Tribhuvan University, Aryal will expect the post from today.
